Teething Problems

A few days after my bi-annual check-up at the dentist’s, Brett told me the boys have problems with their teeth.
“The woman who runs the boarding house said Tonkinese cats tend to have problems with their teeth. She took a look at them and said both have poor teeth. Butterscotch just had his back teeth out the other day. It cost me $800. Now I have to save up another $800 to fix Gingersnap,” Brett moaned.
“Surely it can’t be that hard to save up that amount of money when you’re living with your parents,” I said.
“Yes but I was just beginning to get ahead. I finally started to save money and now this happens.”
“How is Butterscotch?”
“Good. I saw him the day after the operation and he was fine.”
“What about before? He must have been in pain.”
“The vet said he would have been but he didn’t show it.”
“That’s normal. Cats can be stoic.”
My poor babies. Why on earth didn’t Brett think of taking out pet insurance?
