The Bearded Cat
October 8th 2009 21:00
Tell me, do you think Butterscotch looks like he has a beard in this picture? Somehow, the fur looks longer and since it’s on his chin, that would technically make it a beard, wouldn’t it?
That was one of the many topics I like to discuss with one of my colleagues. He sits next to me so we can have thirty second conversations and then get back to work. Then, when one of us wants a break we have another thirty second conversation.
Here are some snippets of short and sharp conversations I have shared with him about the feline world:
Me: Cats have beards.
Colleague 1: No, they don’t.
Me: What’s this then?
Colleague 1: Fur.
Colleague 2: Why don’t you hang out with her (meaning me, the blogger)?
Colleague 1: I’m not feline enough.
Me: My husband (AKA Butterscotch) doesn’t like me looking at other cats. If he knew I had this cat poster at work, he would scratch my eyes out.
Colleague 1: You can hardly see the cat’s eyes.
Another habit I have is quickly showing him pictures of Butterscotch. I put them over the partition so he can see them before putting them away. He normally smiles but yesterday he said he wanted to have a second look so up went the photos. It’s nice to know someone loves cats as much as I do.
