The Day Robert the Cat Tried to Attack Our Budgies (Part 2)
December 20th 2007 21:04
One of my readers, Eva W. relayed this amusing story about cats and birds being a bad combo:
I can also confirm that cats like to attack caged budgies.
This was actually the reason why we had to get rid of our budgie when we got our cat.
At first we tried to make sure that the two creatures were never in the same room together, but the cat would still stare at the budgie through the windows and that made the poor bird really stressed.
One day, we let the cat into the living room where the budgie was in his cage (on a high stand), just to see what would happen. Not surprisingly, the cat circled the stand a few times and then suddenly jumped up and pounced on the cage, bringing everything crashing down to the floor. At this point we all agreed that the budgie had to be given away.
So, to put it simply:
PET CAT PET BIRD = DISASTER
