The Dopey GTC

I thought cats were smart. So how come the GTC miaowed at me several times last night, begging to be let inside the block of apartments where she resides? I know she wanted to go inside as she came up to me and kept miaowing. She then stood outside the front security door, still miaowing. Does she not realise that us humans use a key to get the door open? Does she not know I do not have such a key?
By chance, someone was about to go inside the building so he opened the door and the GTC followed him in. She then hung around the foyer while I took some photos of her. She pressed her face to the glass, still miaowing. I figured she now wanted to exit but again, with no key, I was unable to honour her request. No worries. A few minutes later another guy happened to be leaving the building. He opened the door and the GTC raced back out, this time content to stay outdoors.
