The Grouchy Tuxedo Cat Hates Kids
November 17th 2008 21:00
Now that the weather is warmer, I see the Grouchy Tuxedo Cat almost every day. I usually see him in the morning, either curled up in a ball or sitting up near the stairs, watching people go by. I miaow at him and he comes to me. He will also miaow back. I then let him sniff my finger before I stroke his back a few times. I try not to overdo it, though, because if I stroke him too much he will bite.
On the way to work the other day, I saw a little boy standing in front of the GTC. He was trying to stroke him but the GTC was having none of it. The boy’s father kept telling him to leave the cat alone. I heard him say “Move away. He’s afraid.”
He certainly was. The poor GTC was not his usual friendly self. He stood about a foot away from the boy and not at all happy. Normally he looks at me but he had his face turned away from the boy. Not a good sign. Luckily for him, the father managed to get his son to move away.
I saw the GTC this morning. As usual, I got to stroke him. It’s always nice to feel his soft velvety fur underneath my hand.

Kittys with that reaction have usually dealt with children before....Kids can be so brutal. They pull fur, they have wet hands, they scream and react unpredictably...To much for a kitty to cope with.
