The Grouchy Tuxedo Cat is Back in my Life

I’ve recently discovered one of my friends also likes to hang around street cats. This reminds me of my habit of dropping by the GTC’s house each day.
My grouchy friend had gone AWOL. I have not seen this cat for several weeks. He ignored me the last time I saw him. This is normal for this cat. He goes through periods when he can be very affectionate and then he will be aloof and anti-social (even to the point of biting people if they try to pet him).
Then a few days ago, I spotted him from a distance. Delighted, I approached him. I miaowed. He ignored me so I started picking up the cat food packets nearby to see what brand he eats. The GTC turned around and looked at me before coming up to me and miaowing. He moved his head towards my hand, which I took as an invitation to stroke his face. I got several strokes before I took my hand away as this cat does not like to be touched for too long.
I have seen him twice since then. It is wonderful to see him, even if he is not in a friendly mood.
