Arriving at work one morning, I noticed there was a missed call on my work phone. I checked missed call register and was surprised to see it was an external call that came during dinner time. Who on earth would be trying to call me at that time? I tried Googling the number but got nowhere. I then thought it was a book store telling me the book I had ordered had come in because they sometimes call me at dinner time but then I realised it couldn’t have been them because I get them to call me on my mobile. In the end, I returned the call only to get a recorded message: the caller had been an animal charity. I remember signing one of their on-line petitions a few months ago and they wanted my phone number. As I am reluctant to give out personal details to people, I gave them my work number.
Now I am wondering what they want. All the recorded message told me was that I had contacted Charity X and that there was no one available to answer my call. It didn’t ask me to leave a message nor was there a beep indicating when to leave a message. Chances are they probably would like a donation or me to volunteer for them but they haven’t called me since. Nor did they leave a message on my answering machine.
