The Mystery of Pepe Solved
August 7th 2011 21:00
Regular readers of this blog might remember Pepe, another tuxedo cat who I was on very good terms with. In fact, we were so close that Pepe liked to crawl up into my lap and knead me.
The last I heard about Pepe was she had gone to Hollywood. When I saw the sign outside her house I wasn’t sure whether to take it literally or not. With the passage of time and changes in my job requiring me to work twelve hour days, I soon forgot about her.
That was until last weekend when I was walking home in the dark. There was a tuxedo cat in front of me. A teenage girl was stroking her and talking to her friend. As I was trying to get close to the cat, I couldn’t help but eavesdrop on her conversation.
“There was this cat that lived nearby who would let you stroke it. It looked liked this one. The cat then moved to LA with its owner,” said the girl.
Mystery solved! It looks like I won’t be seeing Pepe anytime soon. I also lucked out with the tuxedo cat, who turned out to be the GTC. She ran under a car before darting off behind a fence where I couldn’t get at her.
