The Office Joke

Working back last Thursday, I noticed some of my colleagues chuckling. I looked up and one of them handed me a newspaper clipping. That was when I realised they were laughing at me.
“Brain cancer linked to the family moggy” read the headline from last Thursday’s Daily Telegraph. My colleagues told me to be careful; for all they knew I already had brain cancer from Butterscotch and Gingersnap.
“My husband does not have brain cancer,” I said indignantly. Not that it made much difference. They were still laughing.
“We’re only trying to warn you because we know you like cats,” said one of them. Ha ha. Very funny.
