The Queenie

We like to observe animals in the wild, if the popularity of Sir David Attenborough documentaries is anything to go by. But what if the roles were reversed? What would they think about us?
Can you imagine what a lion would say about me? “This is the Queenie. She is a very quiet creature and prefers to be alone. When she encounters another Queenie she tries to avoid them unless they are part of her tribe. With tribe members, she likes to make many noises. We think they are communicating but their vocabulary is extraordinarily large. This is well beyond a lion’s comprehension.
“Queenies don’t hunt. They go to buildings where they can get food. We are not sure where this food comes from. Queenies tend to eat many animals: lamb, pork, chicken, duck, quail, beef, seafood and so on.
“Queenies are diurnal so, unlike us, prefer to spend the day running around. They sleep at night, also in dens called buildings.
“One strange habit that distinguishes Queenies from us is their love of wearing what they call clothes. Unlike us, they have very few and fine hairs on their bodies but they do have manes on their heads. Their lack of hair/fur means they get cold very easily so they wear these strange items to keep themselves warm.
“Very rarely do Queenies breed in the open. We have seen female ones with big bellies, so they must breed at night when they are inside their buildings. It takes nine months before the cubs are ready to be born. Female Queenies tend to have longer manes. Their bodies are also smaller. The males can be aggressive; sometimes they can be seen fighting, especially late at night. Unlike us, they like to fight with their front paws, although some Queenies are known to bite…”
Let your imagination take you anywhere…
