Out shopping a few weeks before Christmas, I realised I forgot to bring my camera. No biggie, I told myself. What are the odds of coming across something worth photographing at Chatswood?
That was when I came across a petting zoo in Chatswood Westfield. The kids were going crazy over a deer. I then wished I had my camera so I could take some photos of it for this blog. I was thinking about using my low-res camera on my mobile phone when some more kids, petting zoo staff and an old lady blocked any chance of me getting a good shot. I gave up.
Back at home, my camera was sitting right next to my bed. It made me think about the time I almost forgot my camera. That happened when I had just left the house to go to the Australian Museum to see their Birds of Paradise exhibition. Luckily I checked my handbag. I had to go back home but at least I would have my camera on me when I got to the Museum.
The one time my sister (sort of) forgot her camera was when we went to Taronga Zoo for Christmas. Oh, the camera was there but she forgot to insert the SD card. She had to buy a disposable camera from the zoo shop. (This was back in the days when mobile phones didn’t have cameras.)
One of my friends was at a zoo in China where she got her chance to get to meet a panda bear. She even got to touch it. When she pulled her camera out for a photo the battery had just died. (This was also back in the days…)
At least we have our memories.
