Tigerstar & Sasha: a Feline Love Story

Bored one weekend, I was browsing in a bookstore when I came across this manga novel, which forms part of the Warriors cat novels – manga and non-manga – by Erin Hunter. I wasn’t going to buy it at first as I was in the middle of moving house and didn’t want any more stuff to take with me but I was touched by this moving story of Sasha the cat who is abandoned by her elderly owner when he is unable to take her along to his new nursing home. Sasha starts exploring her neighbourhood and ends up in the forest, where she meets Tigerstar, the leader of a clan of wild cats. The two begin meeting secretly as it is taboo for clan cats to mix with “kittypets” and Sasha falls madly in love. Being the first book in a three-part series, the story ends in a cliff-hanger but nevertheless, it was a short and satisfying read. I can’t wait to get hold of the other two books to find out what happens next.
