What’s new, Pussycat?

I have always wondered what the object that was embedded in Smokey’s the cat’s eye was. The newspaper clipping I have at home contains a frontal shot of his face. It looks like he has a white button embedded in his left eye. If you don’t believe me, check out the video HERE.
Deciding to find out for once and for all, what that object was, I did a Google. It turns out it is a pellet from an air rifle. Voila!
It’s been two years since poor little Smokey had been shot and I still feel for the poor thing. I hope he’s made a speedy recovery and has learnt to trust humans again, even if some don’t deserve it.
