What’s Wrong With This Book?

From time to time, I come across wonderful books that are in the bargain bin while trite ones hit the best seller lists. I don’t get this.
Take this book for example HERE (the Australian title is The Wrong Thing).
I have seen El Cheapo copies at Borders, Dymocks and the Art Gallery of NSW’s gift shop. Being a cat lover I had to grab a copy. The artwork is simply stunning, the story – about how a cat deals with an intruder in the house - imaginative and from one of Australia’s best known authors. How can it not be a hit? If anyone out there knows, please tell me.
Meanwhile, I’m going to flick through it and let my mind absorb the fantasy world the protagonist lives in. Looking at the artwork helps me fall asleep. My doctor would be pleased.
